[The charity ball was coming up! Unfortunately Anya couldn't quite manage to be in attendance - it was the one day that her mother managed to have time off for the week and Anya was more interested in selfishly spending time with her Mama for as long as possible. That said, that didn't mean she didn't want her friends to lose a chance on having fun -

It was a brief conversation where she realized that Kurt didn't exactly have an assortment of fancy dances in his repertoire and she giggled, immediately inviting him to learn a few more with her. There's an empty practice space once classes are over in the dance studio and she gave him the address, then waiting patiently for him to appear.

She's humming absent-mindedly as she waits. (The Theme of King JJ. It's the Theme of King JJ.) And then she's interrupted-]

Kurt!

[oh she's excited]

[Kurt likes to think that he's got the freshest moves this side of Recolle. But, he's been a bit nervous with the gala coming up that he just doesn't know enough, and he doesn't want to look like a total fool. Luckily there's Anya - incredible, dependable Anya, who volunteered to help him.

He shows up at the dance studio simply wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants for the practice. He takes off his sunglasses as he enters, then as he speaks with a smirk, he winks and points a finger gun at Anya.]

Accept no substitutes! Yo, Anya!

[Oh!!

There's a moment where she pauses before finger gunning right back.]

Yo, Kurt!

[she knows she sounds silly... so she giggles but she's still quite happy about it, humming]

You look very ready. Xорошо! Very good.

[At least her sounding silly also doubles as being adorable. He chuckles in turn, even if he blinked without recognition at the one unfamiliar word.]

Righteous!

Yep, I'm totally pumped to start tearing up the dance floor... and to learn new ways to do so!

Yay! I am excited. This room is open?

[She checked the schedule! And she thinks she can borrow this practice dance room for their purposes. She opens the door for him and guides him in, having already queued up a song and everything ahead of time.]

Does Kurt have знания...? Ah - did you dance before?

Why thank you! [He says with a dramatic flourish as she opens the door for him.]

Huh? Oh, dancing! Of course, I know the freshest steps! [He bobs softly in place as he speaks.] Just not the, well, fancy party steps, you know?

[so dramatic... so cute... she's giggling even as he bobs and she nods]

That is okay! It is good to have ритм. Rhythm?

[They sound similar enough but she enunciates more carefully in the English pronunciation.]

It will make you an easy student.

[She does seem to be having trouble with some words... Kurt doesn't recall her having those difficulties. But he doesn't point it out, and he only raises an eyebrow with the hint of a confused smile at her latest mix-up.

Despite that, his response is bright and eager.]

Are you kidding me? 'Rhythm' might as well be my middle name!

[At the raised eyebrow, Anya seems to remember - they haven't spoken much since she'd gotten her language switch up, had they? She offers a smile.]

Ah... I am glad you still understand Anya -

[considering her newfound Russian..... oops. but regardless she's humming]

Okay! Then... counting in threes is best to start since waltz is only in three-counts! [and she'll go to play the music, which is an appropriately slow waltz song as promised] Can Kurt count to the rhythm?

[Let's not start russian ahead of ourselves here-

Kurt smirks and addresses her first comment first.]

Of course I understand you, dudette.

[And then he listens as the music starts to play, nodding at her question.]

Totes mcgotes! I'll be like one two three! Or should I say... [He then snaps his fingers in a partly successful attempt to match the rhythm.] One-two-three!

[GOOD JOB, KURT. Anya nods in encouragement - then starts bopping her head in the exact rhythm of the given song and claps her hands.... which also naturally follow the rhythm.]

Да! Good. Now match how Anya stands.

[And she'll mimic the proper posture for a dancing lead...!]

On two feet?

[He says teasingly, but he does seem to know what she really means. And he reflects that in the next moment, as he assumes that posture! He just exaggerates his shifting into that posture a bit dramatically for comedic effect.]

[The comedic effect works! Anya giggles at his movement and she nods, before reaching out - ]

Xорошо! Good. Now can Anya borrow your hands please?

Sure! Just take care to put them back where you found them when you're done.

[He grins as he reaches his hands towards hers. Normally he'd be more nervous about dancing with a girl. Maybe it's because she's younger, or because she's Anya, but he feels relaxed dancing with her. It's just Pure.]

[thank goodness for the Pure. and to be honest his joke goes over her head so she just answers:] After the lesson!

[but for now she'll guide his hands as directed, one hand gently holding onto hers and the other directed to the middle of her back]

There. When you are leading, this is how you stand.

[The Purity saves all!! He goes along with the guiding of his hands and keeps them in position.]

Oh... okay. This isn't so bad! I can remember this.

Mm! It will be easy, I think, because then you cannot dance without hands like this.

[And she'll give him the directions for the basic waltz - right foot forward, left foot out, etc etc - and ask again.]

Ready to try?

I was born ready!

[With that, he puts her instructions into action and starts waltzing it up! There's some missteps here and there, but for the most part he seems to be getting then hang of it.]

[At least she can get an idea of where a misstep is about to happen, so the worst is him clipping her foot every now and then - not that she even really seems to flinch.]

Xорошо! Good, Kurt! A natural!!

[Anya must be invincible... Well, at least no foot-stomping manages to occur.

At her compliment, he's rendered bashful and frees one hand to run through his hair.]

M-me, a natural? Gee, thanks! But hey, I doubt I'd get a groove going if I didn't have the grooviest of teachers!

[there's a brief laugh at his bashfulness - amused]

Do you think? Cтудент... normally Anya is student before teacher, so I am happy that the teaching is easy to follow.

Hey, well it's working! Maybe you really have the best of both worlds.
