Whoa! Now that is news to me... but, that sounds totally cool!

I don't think a lot of us are from the same sort of world at this point... [Rubbing at the back of his neck.] We don't exactly have girls that are robots or guys that are really birds.

Girls that are roots... guys who are birds...? [He stares blankly as he tries to take that in.]

Just...Labrys? She's the one that met the bird-guy. Though she has blue hair and red eyes so I kind of believe the once-a-robot bit for her...

Huh. I guess that's not the weirdest thing I ever heard... [He rubs at his chin.] Technology is getting pretty out-of-sight... and there's still mutations and everything.

Our robots aren't even that advanced and I'm at least two or three decades ahead of her. [Frowning and lifting an eyebrow.] Mutations?

[digthefuzz]

...Okay, now that's just confusing. [He scratches at his head uncertainly.]

But yeah. You know, you've heard about mutants, right?

You can say that again. We don't have mutants in my world aside from the ones man-made. Like purple squirrels or blue lobsters.

[digthefuzz]

Whoa. It sounds like things are really different where you're from.... [San Fransokyo, robots, purple squirrels...]

And the only ones I know about are... made men. [He tries poorly to wordplay Hiro's own statement.]

"Made men"? [Confused expression is on his face.] You mean men that are mutants?

[digthefuzz]

Um... Right, yeah. That! People who are... you know, born that way.

I mean, I guess it could happen, something out of Fred's comics. There's plenty of chemicals still floating around that could alter DNA. [Looking up at Kurt.] Why?

[digthefuzz]

['Fred's Comics'? Sounds like the name of a comic store. And it sounds like things are really different where he's from...]

Well, that's the way things have been in the world for me. Normal humans and mutants, living together. [His tone seems to imply that this isn't exactly a peaceful coexistence.]

I take it it's had a few bumps in the road? Though folks do have a thing against those that are different than them.

That's putting it lightly! There's a whole lot of controversy from it. So a lot of mutants try to stay hidden...

Do you think there will be a day where that won't be necessary? Anytime soon, I mean?

...I don't think that's likely. It's too complicated...

Sounds to me like the only ones making it complicated are those that don't want to live together.
